First, YOU SHOULD READ THREE REQUIRED READING MATERIALS (they are in Reading materials folder). Then write your thoughts to questions below.
These days we mostly listens to music via internet-based streaming service (such as Spotify, Melon, Youtube, and others). However, I strongly believe most of you have played physical records (such as CD, and even cassette tape or vinly [LP]) before. Maybe, like me, sometimes some of you are still enjoying music by playing those records.
Think about that experience, and write your thoughts and ideas. Your essay should include, but not limited to, answers to questions below.
Q1) Do you feel different when listening to music via streaming and via physical record?
: If yes, what makes you feel like that?
: If no, then what is your expectation about those who still listen to music by playing physical records rather than by streaming service?
: Think about the sound quality described in the Required Reading Material 3. What do you think about that?
Q2) As you can see from two articles, even among physical records,
last year (in 2019) vinyl (LP) have outsold CDs for the first time since 1986. In fact, sales of vinyl have increased by 15-20% every year since the early 2010s globally. Based on what we learned, CD is a sort of digital format while vinyl is analogue. Therefore it means people who purchase and play physical records prefer analogue to digital.
Also, those who buy vinyls are the younger generation between their late teens and twenties rather than the old maybe different from your expectation.
: Have you ever played vinyl? If yes, how did you feel when playing it? / If no, have you ever wanted to purchase, own and play it? Why are you interested (or not interested) in vinyl rather than CD?
: What might be the reason for people to buy more vinyl than CDs, especially since the early 2010s?
: Many young generation purchasing vinyls actually do not have the vinyl player (turntable), which means they dont listen to the music via vinyl though they buy records. What does this show to us?
Q3) Other thoughts and opinions about listening to physical records and to streaming services?
