The Triptyche
Use images and text to express your interpretation of the play in a postmodern triptyche collage of the three female characters in MacDonald’s play. Each panel will be centred on one of the three characters.
Develop a clear concept or theme for your work which is focused on the central issue of identity. Using the characteristics of postmodernism, create a digital representation of MacDonald’s central ideas/interpretation of Juliet, Desdemona, and Constance. Consider also central symbols, images and the sense of humour that is expressed in this play.
The Rationale
Along with your digital collage, submit a written explanation of 300-500 words detailing your choices, as well as a Works Cited page for all sources used in this project. Your rationale should consist of one introductory paragraph, and three body paragraphs, each of which focuses on one of the female characters. In each of the body paragraphs, you must include at least one well-selected, relevant, properly integrated quotation from Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) to support your interpretation, and you must explain what technique or characteristic MacDonald has used.
NOTE: This assignment will be scanned for originality, so ensure that you have properly cited any secondary sources you include in your work.

Use whatever software you like, but you might want to consider using Google Drawings and embedding your triptyche as well as your Rationale in a Google document.
A TRIPTYCH is defined by the Canadian Oxford High School Dictionary as:
A picture or relief carving on three panels, usually hinged vertically together and often used as an altarpiece.
A set of three artistic works, usually meant to be viewed or performed together.
In MacDonald’s play, the central character, Constance Ledbelly, explores her identity through an exploration of two of William Shakespeare’s leading ladies, Juliet and Desdemona, as well as the tragic heroes, Romeo and Othello.
An Example
NOTE: This is the first paragraph of the Rationale, only.

Postmodern Shakespeare
For the task of creating a postmodern interpretation of Ann-Marie MacDonald’s Good Night Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet), I made use of classical artwork representing Shakespeare’s original characters, and postmodern attributes to represent GNDGMJ, thus linking the two eras. In my collage, I imitated an old-style triptych frame but removed the images inside and replaced them with artistic representations of Desdemona, Juliet and an image of Constance. To form the image according to postmodern style I began adding features from the play GNDGMJ. …
