You make and submit a report based on your research. The report should not be more than 10 pages (single spaced, 12 font size)
Each activities 2-13 will be graded on 10 points, only 3 levels will be defined ( not addressed (0), Satisfactory address (5), Well addressed (10))

You will do the following activities:
Select ONE company from Gartners Top Supply Chain 2020 (file:///C:/Users/krker/Downloads/Gartner%20Top%202020.pdf.) I will call this the focus firm.
Select one of its top competitors of the focus firm from that industry. For example, Coca-Cola and Pepsi from the beverage industry. Inditex and Gap from the retail/fashion industry etc.
Study the companies supply chain picked from above in terms of the supply chain, operations, etc., and provide an overview of the industry.
Explore the focus firm and the competitor and the industrys overall choice of strategy. For example, they may broadly have Low-cost, Differentiation, and Responsiveness as three broad categories of strategy. Refer to the figure below for more details. Note that each company may have elements of more than one strategy.
Use its own discretion to figure out what operational or business strategies apply.
Discuss the volume/variety of products sold as well as the product/process choices.
You will inves
tigate the various business units the company may have. Your team will include an analysis of the role of suppliers, manufacturers, retailers in the supply chain. How does the company use resources and assets (asset-light or heavy), R&D & product development, focus on sustainability, etc.
The choice of the companys location(s) uses third parties to source, manufacture, warehouse, distribute, and retail products.
You will look at the companys globalized nature (and its competitor) that you are investigating, what portion of the revenue comes outside its home country.
You will provide a brief biography of their founder/CEO/COO or top supply chain executive, including their education and professional background.
You will find and discuss any important current issues or challenges they face or their industries that will impact their operations or supply chain in the near future (other than the impact of COVID-19).
You will investigate the impact of COVID-19 on the business and the industrys sales and operations and how the industry is trying to cope with the pandemic.
List and discuss two financial/operational metrics or KPIs that are an important measure in that industry.
