I like to have my students give me feedback on how the class went for them. Things they
wanted, disliked, learned, can take with them, etc. And this semester, I feel this chance for
reflection, expression, and feedback is even more critical than ever.
As part of your final grade, I would like you to reflect on the following questions and respond to
them in this Blog in at least 250 words (more is always welcome.)
What were some of the aspects of this course that you liked?
What were some parts of the course you didnt like?
What content/facts did you learn from the class that you can take with you forever?
What is your opinion of the online learning format? Please be specific.
How can I, your professor, improve the course? The format, the content, add assignments, etc.?
I also encourage you to respond, in any way you respectfully choose, to your classmates too. Think of it as a conversation
an online conversation. TWO TO THREE SENTENCES ONLY
What were some of the aspects of this course that you liked? The thing I liked best about this course was being able to see into peoples diagnoses rather than just talking about the parts of the brain that impact people like we usually do in Psychology courses.
What were some parts of the course you didnt like? There is nothing about the course itself that I did not like. I will make some comments in #5 about things related to the course setup that I would have liked to see differently.
What co
ntent/facts did you learn from the class that you can take with you forever? In my perspective line of work, I will be working with former prisoners, and using the things I learned in this class I will be able to better understand some of the mental health struggles they experience will be a great benefit.
What is your opinion of the online learning format? Please be specific.I actually prefer to take online courses as it helps me work around my own schedule and be able to still work and be a father at the same time that I further my education. I think this course went well in the online format.
How can I, your professor, improve the course? The format, the content, add assignments, etc? There were two things that I would like to comment on that might have been able to be done better or at least differently. One is the grading. Professors are busy and that is understood, but grading for this class took forever. Things we did on May 1st are still not graded. As a student, we have deadlines to follow. Professors should have some sort of timeline to return graded items to us as well. Second, I am the type of person to work ahead on things if I have extra time. That was not possible in this class since things were not available until the week they were due. I would have much preferred to be able to see the case studies early so that I can read them and work on them if I had a free day with no work or kids. Other than that, I enjoyed the course.
