You are asked to present this to the CMO and other organizational leaders after your evaluation is done.
Use a Systems Engineering approach to understand the socio-technical models for that workflow process where use of that technology is investigated within the social context. State your understanding of the system the work is done in, and the context that the work is being done in. Identify the goals of that system, how the workflow processes should flow, mental models that may be influencing the human components of the process, and the reasons for poor adoption of the health IT tool. Lack of adoption can be for reasons such as, poor usability, variability in goals, identified care gaps, variability in work, lack of information at the right time, lack of care coordination, creation of workarounds, etc. Discuss how using a Systems Engineering approach can help to promote a Learning Health System.
