Apple uses five performance indicators as part of a holistic approach to its long-term performance plan. This includes customer satisfaction, core competencies, employee commitment and alignment (through a comprehensive employee survey), market share and shareholder value. This performance management works by looking at a combination of the device temperature, battery state of charge, and battery impedance. Only if these variables require it, iOS will dynamically manage the maximum performance of some system components, such as the CPU and GPU, in order to prevent unexpected shutdowns.

Netflix measures its performance of the company by using a metric known as valued hours. This is the main metric used to judge company success. However, Netflix does not have performance measures, improvement plans, or anything related to measuring employee performance. The company defines itself as already having a high performance culture as employees are expected to perform with high regards. There are not any specific metrics or benchmarks pertaining to performance. Since netflix employs candidates who use their freedom responsibly to produce successful results there is no need for performance measures. The interview questions and process is the metric used to investigate the applicant closely which decides if the company is the right fit for the candidate. They must also possess analytical and technical hard skills overall.
