My Experience
* I’m a direct care professional I work with patients who have chronic illnesses or long-term disabilities. In this role, my job duties are as follows. Running errands, providing transportation, performing basic home
health care for clients, Performing personal hygiene care, and doing housekeeping duties. Preparing
meals and assisting clients with eating and drinking. Assisting with the use of incontinence products or providing bathroom visit support. Running errands, including shopping for groceries and basic household items, administering medication, going with them to doctor appointments, etc
My Activities in the recent years
-currently, direct care professional (neuro-rehab) residential group home
– 4 years ago I work as a pharmacy technician
Reasons why I choose this career
– I like helping people
– It’s something I always wanted to do ( even more after experiencing my father’s death) about 8 years
ago when he was battling with cancer. In addition to this tramatic event during covid 19 pandemic.
I had also experiience another death in my family . A very difficult one my grandmother going
through the same pain and agony all over again. I remember not being able to help her

as much as I wished I could’ve for reasons hospitals werent allowing visitation during this time and all i could do was pray and
hope for recovery.
– This has always been the occupation I’ve always wanted to go into because I’ve always wanted to help
and care for patients in need.
-As a nursing professional you deal with new aspects of healthcare and get to interact with different types of patients and the experience can be heartwarming. I want to pursue nursing to help self humanity. Nursing also involves making an impact in people’s lives by assisting them to overcome sickness and accept death.
– The work of nurses during the corona pandemic inspired me more in this profession as well
– Nursing is a career with advancement opportunities
– I like learning I would like to become an oncology nurse practitioner and educate and counsel cancer
diagnose patients and thier families about the disease and manages the side effectes of cancer
treatment.
