Using The Revolutionists by Lauren Gunderson, select one area of design you want to work on: scenery, costumes, lighting or sound. What makes this play interesting, is that in spite of it being set during the Paris Reign of Terror in 1793, the dialogue is contemporary as are many of the ideas put forth by the characters. Your design choices should reflect that- See the Week 10 video. For scenery, costumes or lighting: You will be creating a research collage for the area of your choice. For lighting and scenery, it might be useful to focus on one particular scene or location. For costumes, you should include imagery for each character (these can even be separate collages if you like. You must create at least 1 collage, but are free to complete as many as you feel you need. Your collage should contain no less than 10 images, preferably more, a
s well as short text descriptions/explanations (see the scenic examples provided on Canvas). You can create this in Powerpoint, Word, Google Slides etc., but submit as a PDF.For sound: For sound, it might be useful to focus on particular scenes or locations, but feel free to include transitional music if you like. You will need to provide links (either to websites, or to a Box folder containing your audio files) to the sound effects you would like to use in the scene. You will also want to include short text descriptions/explanations and you can feel free to include some imagery as well, although imagery is not required. You will need to have at least 5 sounds- and remember, these could be any noise that you choose to use, eg. a slicing knife for a guillotine. These can be created in Powerpoint, Word, Google Slides etc., but submit as a PDF.
