Let’s get this quarter over with honestly. I’m graduating this quarter so imagine how I’m feeling at the moment. I personally don’t want to divulge my personal process. However, I will say that getting as much exposure to the course content as you possibly can will do you wonders. It is up to the individual to discern what this entails. I can’t operate and perform properly when I’m in a loud and distracting environment. In addition, if the environment has bad energy then I am affected. I need a dedicated working space conducive to my studies. I also detest working with individuals willingly especially if they are strangers, can not pull their weight, can’t keep up, and have bad energy displacement. I haven’t taken the exam and I don’t want to assume the quality and rigor of the quizzes is on par with the exams, so I am expecting the worst. Expecting the worst gets me more prepared because it gets me thinking of every possible scenario on how to avoid the worst case scenario. In conclusion, do what works for you. Classmate B’s post:My best strategy to study for midterms it typically doing a refresher on the whole course. For example, if my professor gives the class a study guide, I find it way easier to study for an exam using the study guide. Also, I find that I am my most productive in the morning after getting about 45 minutes of direct sunlight. Lastly, I keep my phone in another room because sometimes if I tell myself that I can take a quick break on my phone, I end up getting hooked on it for more than a few minutes

. My phone is a big distraction; therefore, if it’s out of sight, it’s out of mind.My studying has been impacted by COVID-19 in a positive way because I have a lot of material to read, watch, or assignments that are due daily; therefore, I don’t have enough time to procrastinate and I have to plan accordingly. My best advice to do well on an exam is reread or rewatch class materials until you get a good enough grasp of the concept or even seek help from the professor, TA’s or other classmates on material that you don’t understand. Classmate C’s post:In order for me to be able to study, I find that I need an designated area that is mine. For instance, studying at the kitchen table in the common/living room area. Those are areas that, yes, I can do homework, but when it comes to studying that would be a hard no. This is because I find that those area tend to be multi-purpose; the kitchen for example, I eat, cook, talk hang out, and so on. With a multipurpose room creates distractions that takes away from important studying. Another tactic that I find to be quite helpful are study guides – depending on the class you go over a mass amount of information before and exam. This creates you to assume what your teacher finds to be the most important – unless stated “this will be on the exam, this is important information to know”. I have come to realize over my academic career when having to assume what is vital information to know, I end up coming a tad short vs. when given a study guide. Covid -19 has impacted my study habit a wee bit. As I mentioned before I enjoy having a designated area for studying. one of those areas was on campus. It really helps you set the tone when you arrive to your study place. I enjoy studying alone and with a group – depends on the material and how well I am understanding the course. With that, I have found that Covid didn’t impact my studying on the front of a study group. I am thankful for zoom in that regard. Lastly some advice to fellow classmates, if you have set the tone on proper study habits – it takes time. Explore and find out what works for you. Also, don’t forget the mini essentials such as snacks, water, and sleep. For me it helps the process.
