Using the insights gained from the Film Analysis analysis will make easier your task.
There are two parts to the discussions: for the discussion post (30 points) you will post at least a 300-450 word post on a particular topic AND respond with at least a 100-150 word response post (10 points) to one post by a fellow student. No credit will be earned for postings that do not meet the minimum requirement for length. In your response post, do not just repeat what was stated in the original post. Add to what was previously stated with more information, your opinion or experience, or something meaningful, showing that you have thought about the topic. Sentences like ΒI agree with this,Β or ΒThat is interesting,Β will not adequately reflect a desired post.
FORMAT FOR RESPONSE POSTS (RP)
Response Posts
The purpose of a response post (RP) is to build on what other students have said, much like what happens in a land-based/face-to-face conversation/discussion. Build upon what you are doing as you develop your response post (RP).
The 3CQ Met
hod the format you are expected to use. Compliment, Comment, Connect, Ask a Question (see syllabus for details)
DP:
Tzqiusst, an extraterrestrial from planet Zar, was sent to Earth to observe human behavior because there are no babies on Zar. Tzqiusst has never seen a baby before, has never held a baby before, and does not understand sibling rivalry, how babies learn to talk despite no formal training, and the strange screaming and erratic behaviors of these tiny little creatures known as babies. Because you are taking a lifespan course, Tzqiusst comes to you for advice on baby behaviors.
Suggestions:
Explain why you think the documentary Babies is the perfect to help Tzqiusst gain the needed insights to understand baby behaviors. The babies portrayed in the film Babies (2010) evidence the presence of some universal developmental themes/milestones and stages while at the same time substantiates that each baby is uniquely different. What are the universal themes the filmmakers show present during infancy and toddlerhood lifespan eras? What are the themes that appear to be unique to specific babies? Be specific and tie what you say back to the textbook.
