A Research Paper defines a
particular issue and provides new ways to solve it that can be used
to further investigate the problem. A research paper requires you to
locate information about a topic (conduct research), take a stand on
that topic (thesis), and provide support (scholarly sources) for your
claims in an organized report. For this assignment, you will identify
a marginalized community and discuss one issue that plagues that
community. You will then discuss why it is important that as a
society we work on a plan to remedy the issue. Part of that remedy
will be illustrated in your very own advocacy plan. The purpose of this assignment is to depict
your understanding of marginalization, demonstrate your critical
thinking skills and illustrate your understanding of how to work with
scholarly sources.
